Nous Non Plus - Catastrophe
Nous Non Plus' Fille Atomique (from our first album) will be featured on Gossip Girl Monday (Sept 29). We hear it shows up during a fashion runway show. So, if you are out there in the internets wondering who wrote that French song on Gossip Girl in the runway scene, it's Nous Non Plus!

Song dedicated to Ales, with whom we make many many Puro...
We thought this video was never edited...but just discovered it. This make us happy.
Oui, NNP are truly international superstars. Last weekend in the Los Angeles Times, Jean-Luc talked about 'Le Chateau' - the song about his favorite LA hotel, The Chateau Marmont.
"WHERE does inspiration come from? Sometimes, apparently, it's born at poolside.
The first time Dan Crane went to the Chateau Marmont he had to sneak by security, and he ended up in the pool, skinny-dipping with friends and marveling at the star-dusted glamour of the storied hotel on Sunset Boulevard. Drenched and giddy, he looked up to see a blond starlet on a Gucci billboard watching over him. "I felt like I was floating on the leftover high of Jim Morrison and John Belushi and all the orgies in all the bungalows through the years."

(the other was Dr. John, who coincidentally Jean-Luc ran into at the claim du baggage at JFK), NNP rocked the packed opera house and made the audience dance in their seats. We were followed by the superfamous and trés sexy Adrienne Pauly.

From the story: "Subsequent to our review, we received a comment and an email from a member of the re-formed (though never reformed) Les Sans Culottes, encouraging us to disbelieve "the ministers of propaganda" and judge their music for ourselves. Never ones to ignore a challenge, we took this request seriously: a few of the Parisist staff writers have listened long and hard to the two groups, and have accordingly set forth their comparative judgments.
And really, who better to adjudicate between two fake French bands than a fake French website?
Here are our responses, after the jump-- why don't you have a listen as well and let us know what you think?"

The jury was out, as far as Parisist was concerned, on the advisability of a New York band pretending, coyly, to be French.
But last night at the Paris-Paris, Nous Non Plus made their case loud and long, converting all naysayers with their dizzying energy, brilliant lyrics and infectious melodies, all rooted in a solid drumbeat. And, it turns out, one member of the band, one who does a lot of singing, is actually French. Nous Non Plus (unlike its previous incarnation as Les Sans Culottes) is proving to be way more than a gimmick, and more than just the sum of their influences.
